The Supernatural

Good morning ya'll!

This sunny morning I was sitting in front of my window, with the sun shining on my face, and I asked the Lord to speak to me, and these are the words I heard:

"I love you and I am next to you."

I thought back "OK those are nice words, and so good to hear again, but do you have anything else?"

And He said to me "Maria that is all you ever need to hear, those are all the words anyone ever needs to hear, that I love them and that I am near to them. From these words will flow the supernatural, because My love and nearness empowers you."

Whoa! Amen! As I journaled the Spirit expanded on this idea...

"because with Me at your side what/whom shall you fear? Nothing and no one! So you are unstoppable as you trust in my love, as long as you trust me, listen to me, and walk with me (obey), which I have made possible because I am right next to you! In fact I am IN you! So dear ones see and believe that I AM the LORD your God who loves you and is next to you in this battle we call life."

WHOA! AMEN! YES! Jesus is right next to us, HIS SPIRIT IS IN US! Giving us the power and the desire to do what the pleases the Father! So dear ones, loved by God, draw near to Him, because He is already near to you, and He wants to give you the power, strength, joy, and peace of His perfect and everlasting love!

One Day at a Time

I'm not going to worry about tomorrow, because  Jesus has my back.

Whether  it is finances, a sin I'm struggling with, a dream I have, I'm not going to worry about it!

I'm  going to focus on being faithful today, resting in Him today, living with Him today... Tomorrow and the next day and the day after that will all be taken care of by Him!

Praise Jesus that we only have to live one day at a time :) Amen

Rock n Roll

Please read through this scripture, slowly, if you have read it a hundred times before don't skip over it, read each word, don't draw any conclusion about it, don't think about all the sermons you have heard on this passage... just read it

And when a great crowd was gathering and people from town after town came to him, he said in a parable, “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it. And some fell on the rock, and as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it. And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded a hundredfold.” As he said these things, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant, he said, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience. (Luke 8:4-15 ESV)

Now please thoughtfully think about and answer these questions:

What strikes you? What jumped out at you? Go back and read that part again... Why do you think it's jumping out you? What is significant about that part? How does it relate to your life? What could God be saying to you through it?

This is what jumped out at me (I even highlighted it in pink):

And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. (Luke 8:14 ESV)

Am I good soil? It's doubtful... I think I'm pretty rocky, I let the desires and cares of this world choke me!!  What can I do? Ask the Gardner to come and do some gardening, remove those rocks (and foxes) so that my fruit can mature...

Right ok, Jesus you are the Gardner, please help me and come work in my mind and soul, I know you have and are, so thank you for all the work you have already done, I am trusting that you will continue to work in/on me Amen

Why am I at Regent?

As I am about to start my second year (a year has gone by already can you believe it!!) at Regent College, I have been reflecting on why I am studying at Regent...

I am at Regent to study Theology (the study of God), so I am at Regent to study God... To come to know him more and more, so that I can teach others about who He is! And as I come to a deeper understanding of him, I know myself deeper as well, I learn what it means to be human, and a Christian... And then I can teach others what it means to be truly human and what it looks like to follow Jesus...

So I am at Regent to learn so that I can teach... Oh what a joy, what a great blessing, and what a great privilege and responsibility! Thank you Jesus, may it all be for your glory Amen
